Help us pick the new Riordan Playground at Federal Hill Green!

The Upgrade Your Play campaign is the Bristol Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services (BPRYCS) Department’s latest endeavor in its mission of delivering high quality facilities to our residents.

Originally built in 1974, the Riordan Playground at Federal Hill Green was designed as a toddler playground for school aged children. Overtime, additional playground elements were added and replaced. Most recently, intergenerational swings were installed in the Spring of 2022.

Updates will include replacing the play unit and standalone slide. Recently installed benches and swings will remain in place.

Federal Hill Green is located on Maple and Queen Streets.

Swings
Intergenerational Swings were installed at Federal Hill Green as recently as 2022. The swings will remain as is at Federal Hill Green and will not be impacted by the new playground installation. All playground design options and renderings account for the swing elements to remain at Federal Hill Green.

Turtles
In 2020, the City Arts and Culture Commission held a design contest to repaint the Playground Turtles at Federal Hill Green and Brackett Park. The turtles will remain as is at Federal Hill Green  and all playground design options account for the turtles to remain at Federal Hill Green.
